Mixed Reality interfaces have been researched for over 30 years, but technology platforms have developed to the point that Mixed Reality experiences can be taken from the research lab into everyday life. This presentation discusses research in Mixed Reality in the context of Pervasive computing. In particular an overview of mobile Mixed Reality platforms will discussed and the opportunities these provide for next generation Pervasive computing applications. Examples will be drawn from the research of the HIT Lab NZ and other leading groups worldwide.
